What to Expect
Welcome to Spring Lake Counseling
Whether you're here because you could use additional support journeying through life, in a personal crisis or somewhere in between, you are welcome here. I know it hasn’t always been easy and you’ve come so far already.
I hope to be able to support you towards the deeper healing you are searching for.
What to Expect
Everyone's first therapy session is unique. For some clients it can bring relief and offer hope as they feel safe to share and be seen. On the other hand, for others it can feel vulnerable and nerve-wracking as opening up about your feelings may be unfamiliar and uncomfortable.
However you are feeling is normal. It's important to remember that your therapist is here to help you. It's okay to take things at your own pace and ask questions if you're feeling unsure about anything.
Through trauma therapy, you can expect to:
Develop a greater sense of self-awareness and self-compassion
Process and release traumatic memories and emotions
Learn effective coping strategies for managing symptoms
Improve relationships and communication with others
Reconnect with a sense of safety and hope for the future
You deserve to feel heard and understood in a safe space without judgment
